As per Hindu mythology, God appears in different avatar to save the good people or to fulfill their wishes. Jamalapuram Venkateswara is also one of such kind temple. People calls this temple as the second Tirupati in Telangana.As per devote believe, Lord Venkateswara stayed here sometimes along with his wife, Goddess Lakshmi. This temple is located in Khammam district Telangana.

Background of the temple is, Jabali Maharshi is a guru of Lord Sri Rama and pilgrim. One day, he came to Jamalapuram and attracted by the beauty of nature.So he stayed and did penance for Lord on Soochi Giri Hill.One fine day Lord Vishnu stood before his eye and blessed him.As monk desired, Lord becomes an idol in his inn in the form of Sri Venkateswara's avatar.

After a long time, the person called Yagnanarayana Sharma took rest here while his journey to Kashi and felt an unknown feeling. He noticed that he dreamed these hill and trees every night. Yagnanarayana felt, he has some relationship with this place and decide to be live for some time. Lord Venkateswara has come as a boy and played with cattlemen daily.If anybody asks his name and place, the boy used reply as your name is my name and your place is my place. Yagnanarayana Sharma was heard about that kid, and he reached the top of the hill to know about him.There he found Lord Venkateswara idol and writings on the rock.

devotees firmly believe that here Lord worship will give good health and wealth.that is why people used to give the first crop to the God from their fields and gardens.in this temple, there is a separate collecting counter to take crops which are presented by the devotees.

There are two ways to reach Jamalapuram, Yerrupalem Mandal, Khammam.This temple is situated 80 KM away from Khammam, and 60 KM from Vijayawada.there is a bus facility from Madhira, Vijayawada, Thiruvuru, Ibrahim Patnam bus depots.pilgrims can reach Yerrupalem Railway station by Secunderabad-Vijayawada trains.
