Confirmed Tickets for Waiting List Passengers through VIKALP Scheme

Indian Railways introduced a new scheme called VIKALP to provide alternative train accommodation for waiting list Tickets.This service can be enabled by checking VIKALP option while booking the ticket online.Then the only passenger can eligible for this scheme.This option also available on IRCTC tickets as well as counter reservation tickets.

What is VIKALP scheme in IRCTC

If any passenger checked for VIKALP option while booking the ticket, then he will get confirmed accommodation in next alternative train.The passengers who are under VIKALP scheme they will get confirmed ticket on the same train or alternative train based the demand and availability.this scheme very useful at festive and holiday seasons.Present this option only available for mail/express.

Important Terms and Conditions for VIKALP scheme 

• Indian Railways provide alternate accommodation for the VIKALP Tickets is based on the demand.this is not assured.
• Sometimes passenger will get any nearest station as source station instead of given source point.
• The passenger can cancel confirmed alternative train ticket as per alternative train charges.
• Passengers who booked for alternative tickets must check their PNR status once chat got prepared.
• Be prepared to travel on any train which they provide.As per the scheme conditions they can move passenger to any train which is available with 12 hours of actual Departure time.
• Who got alternative train accommodation will not be allowed to original train.they can only travel on allotted alternative train.
• Allotted alternative train ticket can be dropped or reallotted by authority until last minute of train departure.
