when to file TDR in IRCTC

What is TDR?

when to file TDR

TDR(Ticket depositing request) is intended for the passenger who was not traveled due to some reasons.

i-ticket

for i-ticket, TDR can't file through online. we need to submit the ticket to station master by filling the TDR file with a particular reason for not travel and send the TDR to Delhi internet ticketing center.

e-ticket

for e-ticket, TDR can be filed online by going to IRCTC website as shown below screenshot.

how to file TDR

Indian railways have some rules to refund for the file TDR.however full amount will not be refunded in any case as they deduct the service charge etc. but you can expect some decent amount.

home screen, you can see the TDR option. click on TDR and enter the  PNR number which is opted to refund. below are the reasons that we can select while filing the TDR.

  • Train canceled by railway
  • Train running late more than three hours and passenger not traveled
  • Difference of Fare in case proper coach not attached
  • AC failure
  • Traveled without id proof
  • wrongly charged by TTE
  • Party partially traveled
  • Passenger not traveled
TDR can be filed for the TATKAL ticket if it fulfills the railway's rules.
